Conscientiousness is a fundamental personality trait in the study of psychology and is recognized as one of the Big Five personality dimensions. Conscientiousness implies a pattern of interest & behavior according conscience. According Costa & McCrae (1990) this Big Five dimensions involves a composition of 6 facets, including: Competence, Order, Dutifulness, Achievement Striving, Self-Discipline, and Deliberation.
Prevalence: approximately 1 in 4 people are high scorers for 'conscientiousness' and versus 1 in 4 people are low scorers, which represents 'casualness'; additionally, 2 in 4 people score between 'conscientiousness' & 'casualness'.

Researchers have pointed out in the past on fundamental grounds that positive correlations between the Big Five dimension Consciousness and the 2d:4d finger ratio can be expected. Even though one study has reported a highly significant positive correlation with one of the Conscientiousness facets - NEO C6: Deliberation (J. Wacker et al., 2013) - most studies have not confirmed this expectation (source: B. Fink, J.T. Manning & N. Neave, 2004).
So far, it appears that the field of biometrics has hardly managed to identify significant biometry related correlates with the Big Five personality dimension Conscientiousness.
